DIAL at the European R&I Days 2021
The European Research and Innovation Days were held online on 23 and 24 June 2021. DIAL Scientific Programme Co-ordinator Elina Kilpi-Jakonen and GUODLCCI co-PI Gabriella Conti contributed to panel discussions during the event.
Institutional Influences on Inequalities across the Life-Course
The fourth DIAL thematic workshop on institutional influences on inequalities across the life-course, hosted by Professor Alexander Ludwig from the Goethe University Frankfurt, was held online on the 3rd and 4th of December 2020.

As part of the Dynamics of Inequality Across the Life-course (DIAL) summer school, three lectures on multidisciplinary inequality research were also open for a broader audience.
Second DIAL EU Stakeholder meeting: overcoming childhood disadvantages
Researchers from four DIAL projects presented their research on the causes and consequences of childhood disadvantages and how these can be addressed in Europe. Representatives from the European Commission’s Social affairs and Evidence-based policy and evaluation units took part in the discussion.
DIAL EU stakeholder meeting: Tackling gender inequality in Europe
DIAL organized a virtual EU stakeholder meeting with a topic of gender equality on June 16, 2020. Representatives from the European Commission’s gender equality, social investment strategy and Democracy and European values units and researchers from four DIAL projects (EQUALLIVES, HUCIAW, DAISIE and CILIA-LGBTQI+) discussed gender equality related to work-life balance, work trajectories, care and retirement.
Education and Life Conference in Newcastle
The second DIAL thematic workshop – Education and Life – was organized on 13th and 14th of January 2020 at the Newcastle University.
DIAL Mid-term Conference
The first mid-term conference of the DIAL research programme took place from the 6th to the 8th of June 2019 at the University of Turku, Finland.
