The European Research and Innovation Days were held online on 23 and 24 June 2021. DIAL Scientific Programme Co-ordinator Elina Kilpi-Jakonen and GUODLCCI co-PI Gabriella Conti contributed to panel discussions during the event.
Elina Kilpi-Jakonen took part in the panel discussion How can R&I help to leave no one behind in the post-COVID-19 recovery? She described how DIAL research helps to address inequalities, both pre-existing ones as well as new ones brought about by COVID-19. Gabriella Conti took part in the panel discussion Scientific breakthroughs as opportunities to address societal emergencies and presented her ERC-funded research The Developmental Origins of Health: Biology, Shocks, Investments, and Policies. Overall, the European R&I Days attracted over 21,000 participants from over a 100 different countries.
